この曲は、元々ＮＨＫスペシャルの「大英博物館」で使われたものだそうで、サントラのアルバムにも収められています。ここでは「母なる自然」と題されていますが、「花」など、他のおおたか静流のアルバムでは「Mother Nature」という題になっているようです。
この詞を訳していて、これは日本語の感覚で書かれたものだと思いました。
もしくは、（当然ながら）日本語も操るおおたか静流が、この詩を表現するのに最適な言葉として英語を選んで紡がれたもの、ということです。
だから、歌詞の意味はわかっても、詩の感覚を生かしたまま日本語にするという作業はとても難しかったです。
何しろ作者が「くすんだ金の黄昏のなかの静けさ」ではなく「Silence here in ash-gold twilight」を選んで書いた訳で、そう言う意味ではどんな日本語もしっくり来るものではないからです。
できれば元の詩をそのまま味わってほしいと思うので、以下に載せておきます。
